On Saturday morning, we volunteered at a nearby Integrated Community Health Screening. Amanda and Karen measured bone density, Borhan and Mickey directed traffic, Jessica and Nicole assisted with H&P and I helped with vision examination. The health screening reminded me of free clinics in the U.S. Pictures coming soon as soon as I get them!
We rested in the afternoon before we headed to the Modern Toilet Restaurant. We were so excited to finally have dinner from a toilet!
The table was rested on a bathtub, we were all sitting on toilet seats, and yet, our appetites were still intact.
Such a funny pic of Mickey digging in!
On Sunday, we went to Danshui, took a ferry ride across the river, and tried out an amazing array of food.
We got Japanese rice sandwiches and they were the most delicious sandwiches I have ever had. How come no one has ever told me about these?!
Beautiful.
The boys in the ferry.
Us girls, including Jessica's sister
Obligatory group picture :)
On Monday night, we went out to grab some world-famous dumplings in Ding Tai Fung. Afterward, half of us went up to Taipei 101 while the Taiwan natives stayed behind, and we ended the night going shopping and food-tasting at a nearby street market.
The world famous dumplings have finally arrived!
Chefs busy at work.
Our coins were getting too heavy, so we decided to get rid of them.
We passed by this TV screen where they changes you digitally into a character from the Green Lantern. Here is how Nicole would look like if she were in the movie. It was hilarious!
The view from 89th floor of Taipei 101. It was unbelievably gorgeous and definitely worth the trip!
We are on top of the world, literally! Taipei 101's entrance.
One last look at Taipei 101 - probably my favorite attraction in Taiwan.
Whew! We did not waste anytime this weekend! Very sad that we only have one more weekend left together.
